Taking place over four days of the festival on the 1st-4th March at the prestigious Manchester Studios the Filmmaker Studio’s will be live events will take the form of a chat show and will be hosted by BBC Manchester’s Film Critic Tom Percival.

Tickets will cost £2 with all proceeds going to the Teenage Cancer Trust and can be purchased in advance or on the day.

1 - 2PM 21st CENTURY ‘HORROR’ SCREENWRITING LECTURE

This 60 Minute lecture is a condensed version of a two day ‘Horror Screenwriting Weekend’ course commencing summer 2019. This taster session will feature new, innovative ideas and techniques offering valuable insight into the workings of the genre and practical approaches to help stimulate original content and maintain clarity during the writing and re-writing process.  

Topics include:

  • How the technique of TERROR/HORROR/TRAUMA is used to create ‘frights’ 

  • How all Horror stories can be condensed into one of three primal WARNINGS

  • The outdated paradigm of Horror

  • The 5 TYPES of MONSTER

  • How to create a MEMORABLE Monster
