Consisting of more than 40% of Paraguay’s land area, the Chaco is a semi-arid region also known as the green hell. Since 1950’s the German Mennonite colonies have progressively occupied more than 90% of the territory inhabited by local indigenous communities. Without their land, natives’ ancestral way of living and culture are dramatically at risk. In years where migrations and the coexistence of cultures are becoming a crucial issue of our time, A Land portrays this silent conflict and explores the issues and opportunities of multiculturalism.
